We See a Future that Feeds the World and Fuels the Cloud

Palliser Grid is a clean energy company that’s leading the way to build a major AI hub in the Palliser Triangle—owned by farmers who have worked this land for generations.

Our mission is to transform Alberta’s toughest farmland into a carbon-free AI data center corridor powered by locally produced renewable energy (wind, solar, hydro, storage) while delivering direct economic benefits to farmers and rural communities through co-ownership, agricultural innovation, and revenue participation.

We stand for:

Being Good Stewards of Generational Farmland

Taking care of the land is in our blood. We want to see it passed on to future generations in better shape than before.

Keeping Profits in Alberta to Help Our Province Grow

Every dollar stays right here at home. With 100% local ownership, we make sure Alberta sees the full economic benefit.

Our word is our bond. We work openly with farmers and partners to create agreements that are fair, lasting, and grounded in trust.

A 5th-Generation Farmer Getting the Job Done

Eric Steeves was born and raised on The Alberta Prairies, and cultivated the same stubborn land his great-great-grandfather broke up in 1909. Like many farmers in the region, he faced years of relentless drought, volatile markets, and rising land prices, leading him to doubt how he could continue the legacy of his family farm with so many odds stacked against him.

That changed in 2017, when Greengate Power called to ask if he’d consider putting photovoltaic panels on his land. The decision wasn’t easy to see generational farmland change, but it’s what saved his family farm. The project went on to become Canada’s largest solar facility, which gave him the means to turn his traditional grain farm into a fast-growing solar grazing operation.

From the landowner side, Eric worked closely with the developers to address the concerns he and other farmers had about leasing their land. He wanted to make sure a project of this scale wouldn’t replace agriculture, but work alongside it. The lease payments offered relief, but what mattered most was preserving the heart of the farming community—a place where his kids will grow up.

That’s what inspired him to start Palliser Grid.

With the growing demand for land, water, and power that AI data centers require, the push toward rural development is only getting stronger. Rather than closing the door on this opportunity, Eric believes there’s a sustainable way forward—one that powers the next generation of AI while staying as close to net-zero as possible and giving farming communities a much-needed boost.

Today, he’s working to build dependable, carbon-free power infrastructure that supports both rural economies and the world’s growing demand for AI.
