Turning Alberta’s Tough Farmland Into a Data Center Hub

Part of the Palliser Triangle, this land has challenged farmers for generations. But the conditions that make it hard to grow crops make it an ideal location for AI data centers.
Why is Southern Alberta the Perfect Spot for Data Centers?
300+ Sunny Days a Year
This region has become home to the Travers Solar Project, Canada’s largest solar facility, which has a generating capacity of 465 MW.
Frequent High Winds
Our strong winds have destroyed the topsoil, but it powers 249 wind turbines on two large-scale wind farms with a combined capacity of 795 MW.
Three Water Reservoirs
Nearby are the largest reservoirs in the Bow River Irrigation District, together holding about 195.5 billion gallons of water, with more to divert.
Cold and Dry Climate
With less than 350 mm of annual rainfall and four to five cold months each year, this region is ideal for running high-efficiency cooling systems.
In Between Two Urban Centers
Located between Calgary and Lethbridge, the area offers direct access to low-latency internet, a skilled workforce, and an international airport.
Lots of Room to Grow
With thousands of acres to spare, this region can host multiple AI data centers and renewable energy sites, while allowing farming to continue.
How Do We Plan to Go From Greenfield to Brownfield?
The area looks good on paper, but there’s a lot more needed to support AI development than the right conditions.
We’ve developed a concept to turn this potential into reality.

Leading a Grassroots Movement of Landowners
As a 5th generation farm, our roots run deep here. We’ve already worked with our neighbors to bring utility-scale solar to the area, and we’re actively looking for more landowners to lease land for AI development.

We’ll Clear the Way,
You Start Building
We’ve already taken the first steps to make hyperscale development possible in this region by working closely with the Bow River Irrigation District, Government of Alberta, and County of Vulcan.
On top of that, we’ve been talking with landowners face-to-face, building trust and generating early interest.
When you partner with us, you’re not starting from scratch. We’re already securing the permits, contracts, and approvals, so you can focus on what matters most: funding and construction.
And because we live here, we’re more than just facilitators—we’re advocates. We’ll champion this project with local stakeholders, making sure it doesn’t just get built, but benefits the community.
Our commitment is simple: we want to see this region thrive, and we’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen.
